ON CONSTRUCTION ENERGY PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATES

Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for houses are official documents that provide information about the energy efficiency of a property. They offer a detailed assessment of how much energy a home consumes, how efficient it is, and where improvements can be made. EPCs are required by law in many countries when a property is sold, rented, or constructed.

The certificate includes an estimate of the property’s annual energy costs, helping potential buyers or renters understand how much it might cost to run the house.

The EPC gives a rating (typically from A to G, with A being the most energy-efficient) based on the property’s energy use. The higher the rating, the more energy-efficient the house is, meaning it uses less energy for heating, cooling, lighting, and other functions. It also provides a rating for the environmental impact, usually in terms of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. A better energy rating typically results in lower emissions.
